Murringo First Families Inc was established to; Recognise and promote the roles played by the original families of Murringo and district;

What we are About
Raise funds and source grants to restore family graves, monuments and other public memorials within Murringo and district; Actively liaise with Hilltops Council in promoting the recognition and remembrance of First Family members in Murringo. We are building a collection of portraits, family histories and photographs of early buildings in the village. We would love to hear from anyone should they be related to any of our First Families and we welcome a your family history showing how they are connected to Murringo.
  • In the Pipeline:
  • A memorial to honour the Pioneers of the area (to be located in front of Murringo station);
  • Plaques on all of the historical buildings and locations within the village;
  • A walkway joining the cemetery with a walkway already from the hall to the school;
  • Replacement of the memorial to Bill O’Reilly the Australian test cricketer who lived in Murringo.
